Firstly, fantastic game, I really love the art and the setting, the fact that many hints and clues are scattered across different paths makes it possible to re-play a lot of times.
The question now is...who is the killer?
Spoilers below this point!
The corpse is completely burnt and Tomas' calls were cut short many times... My guess is that Spear is not dead but is either hiding or is an accomplice of the real killer. Of course the MC is hiding something but that burnt corpse might Tomas' maybe. Who did that and why? The MC seems to be friends with Tomas'... I love this mystery plot!
It seems the next chapter will be a continuation of the prologue, where the MC will either accept their "endless night" or save guys here and there, look forward to that, thanks for your amazing work, Ryu!
And you...who do you think is the killer?
3 accomplices. The Trinity. The King, the Queen, and the Bishop.
The King, portrayed by 2 chess pieces - mirrored. It symbolizes two personalities - just like Yuji's. Who possibly funded the whole ordeal. Who works in a bank that lost a lot of money. Who owns the same big suitcase Yuji saw in their boat. Who wrote a diary page about his selfish friend. Who liked a bald man but had no confidence to pursue, thanks to his friend. The King pieces are also accompanied by 4 pawns.
The Bishop - a man of the cloth. Together with the other 4 pawns. The only one awake in their boat. The bald man who wrote a diary page about meeting two guys in a party.
The lone Queen piece - still retaining it's original color. Separated from the two groups. The last author of the diary pages.
The painting above the chess pieces depicts two men of the same appearance crowning a person of unknown gender.
