I love looking for clues and having to be very careful in my choices. it greatly affects the margin of error, and creating a bit of mystery enriches the interest. however I would like to release extremely sincere feedback, especially for me who am used to this kind of gameplay: the game has a serious save and slowness problem. I want to point out these two points especially as long as it is an early access and not a final version, something needs to be done.
the game is great but the save system is unfortunately awkward. in a game with so many choices (many of them highly decisive) I MUST have the option to save at any time I want. maybe not during an optional dialogue choice, but having to be forced to finish a conversation and reach exploration mode is ... terrible. makes the gameplay very frustrating, considering it focuses a lot on repeating various scenes with different choices.
I also have to mention the save slot section - it doesn't work. in this genre of games with so much influence in the choices, 60 slots are considered very few, but only 20 are proposed here. many people like to save every single crucial point rather than repeat it completely, but this limitation in the save slots is very frustrating . the layout is also a problem, because having to scroll through the 20 save staves is very impractical. I would suggest converting the layout of the save slots into cells, just as it is excellently proposed in the photo gallery and unlocked CGs.
Finally, I would like to point out the huge problem of the gameplay, that is the setting of automatic or manual scrolling. I'll be honest, but it's one of the most stressful things I've ever seen in games of this type. the setting between the two modes has defects in both parts:
- Manual: it is useful for scrolling through the texts that I do not know with my times, but if it happens that I want to restart a conversation with another choice, I am forced to scroll through the entire conversation I already know. the mode does not allow me to choose the parts I want to skip, because to access the setting menu I always have to wait for the concersation to get me to explore mode.
- Automatic: sounds like a good idea, but it has some unforgivable flaws. the pre-set timing is too long in some dialogues or too short in others, making it frustrating to decide on a basic setting. Furthermore, the fast scrolling must always, ALWAYS be interrupted at every single animation and scene change. or worse, sometimes there are dialogues set up to go only in autonomy (see the scene of the brca that reaches the island: he has a timing all his own, I don't decide it).
It is necessary to connect both modes: give me a button in which I can quickly scroll through the scenes when I want, while maintaining the possibility of doing it manually at any time. there are also games that allow a "> |" button, which allows you to skip entire scenes up to the mode of choice we are interested in knowing (with a disclaimer that we could skip important notions about the story, of course). automatic timing is better not to include: it only works if you have a setting specifically designed for each single line of dialogue (random examples, Camp Buddy). you avoid extra work and let the player decide their own times.
and speaking of timing: the animations are fantastic the first time you see them, but you must necessarily give me the opportunity to skip them too, not just the dialogues. even if I am very curious about the routes, having to review all the slow animations (when he falls asleep, when he dreams, when he wakes up, etc.) makes me lose the desire to tackle the new route.
don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game 🤗🤗🤗. but he absolutely must resolve these points. as it is now I was very disincentive to repeat the routes, knowing that I must necessarily respect the times imposed by the game😬🙏
I really hope you are taking this feedback into account. there is a lot of potential, but it absolutely needs to be fixed now. basically, don't underestimate the patience of the player, because for me all this has affected my desire to complete the game a lot ... and it's damn slow. 😥
I hope your feedback is appreciated as I am appreciating the potential of this game. 🤗
